Sometimes we lose sight of who we are, what we want, and where we’re going. It happens to the best of us. It happens at any given time. But it does happen, and when it does, there’s one thing we all need to remember.
Perspective. Do not dwell in this one moment, no matter how hard or frustrating or sad it may be. Take a few big steps back and look at everything from a new perspective. You’ll see that whatever happened has happened for a reason. You’ll see that it’s only a small fraction of the time you’ve lived, only one memory out of a bucket full of good ones. If life is an ocean, don’t let yourself be overwhelmed by one strong wave. Resurface, swim back to shore, and look at the horizon: all that life has to offer. Would you give up the whole ocean because of one bad moment at sea?
